Its been a long and very wet winter. Many of us will already know all about mud fever but what methods do you use and products to combat or keep it under control?

My boy has mud fever at the mo and vet has advised a special medicated shampoo (sorry can't remember name) and an aquabase cream, using equichaps on front legs as he doesn't have it on these in order to prevent it coming. As soon as it clears up on hinds will be putting equichaps on them to stop it coming back Suspect afro

I put turnout boots on and in the mornings i brush off any mud that had got underneath them. i never wash the legs off with a hose. If he does get a touch of it then i use muddy marvel wash before bed using warm water and then udder grease on when i turn out.
